Veneers

Applied to the front of your teeth, veneers both look great and help protect your natural teeth from more wear and tear. They can rejuvenate your smile! There are two kinds of veneers: composite and porcelain.

Composite Veneers

Composite veneers are very affordable and easy to apply. Applied in one appointment, your dentist will use a composite material similar to bonding to shape a thin layer onto the front of your tooth. We may place the veneer on in several thin layers, with a high intensity light hardening each application. After the material is set, we’ll smooth over the tooth to make it look natural. Composite veneers can be easily fixed or replaced if any discolouring occurs.

Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are very durable, more natural looking than composite and resist staining. The dentist will prepare the tooth surface to make it flat and even, to receive the veneer; no-prep veneers are also an option for some people. Ask your Highland Hills dentist which option would work best for your smile! We’ll then make an impression of the tooth so that we can create a custom veneer. Because this will take two appointments, you’ll be fitted with temporary plastic veneers to protect your tooth while your permanent veneer is being made.
